iCAN runs a number of support days throughout the year for children and their families affected by Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. These are funded by generous donations to iCAN and are vital for two main reasons:
1. They give children with JIA a day out to be ‘normal’ and enjoy activities and events at their own pace – where they can meet other children and teens who understand what it is like to live life with JIA.
2. These days out give parents a chance to enjoy chatting with other parents of children with JIA. These chats are an informal but invaluable source of information and support. Friendships are forged and bonds are made. Mostly, parents are able to know that however challenging it is to parent a child with JIA – they are not alone.
